Silicone Adhesive Info & Where to Buy

SkinTite.png

For our silicone products, we suggest using Skin Tite™ as a skin-safe adhesive. Skin Tite™ is a skin safe silicone used to adhere silicone appliances directly to the skin. It will adhere to the skin and perfectly conforms to all contours. Cured Skin Tite™ is strong and will flex with body movement. Appliances will not come off until you remove them. No special remover is necessary- just slowly peel away.

If you want to use a product other than Skin Tite™, please research if it is safe to use with platinum cure silicones, and do small tests before trying to apply the piece. We are not responsible for damage to the product caused by improper adhesives.

To glue accessories to our silicone headpieces (ex: crowns, headbands, etc.) please use Sil-Poxy™ silicone glue. Sil-Poxy™ is a one component adhesive made specifically for bonding silicone to silicone and other substrates. Sil-Poxy™ provides a strong, flexible bond between silicone parts.

How to Apply Makeup with Headpiece

Alcohol Based Makeup

Whether using an airbrush or makeup brush, with alcohol based makeup we recommend applying your makeup first! This includes your base color, facial markings, and beauty makeup. After all of this is done, you can apply the headpiece using the silicone prosthetic to skin glue.

Water Based Makeup

However, if using water based makeup brands, we recommend you apply your headpiece FIRST! This ensures that the prosthetic glue has a clean surface to adhere to. If you apply the makeup first, in hot and humid climates, the makeup can start to sweat off, and the prosthetic glue will go with it. Apply the headpiece, then your base color, facial markings, beauty makeup, etc.
